The fall of 2000, when she began High School, she and her family moved to Thunder Bay. Courtney graduated from Hammerskjold High School. Courtney attended Confederation College, where she graduated with Honors for maintaining a near perfect GPA. Today, she is working toward her B.A in Indigenous Learning with a minor in Anthropology at Lakehead University.
Courtney started singing at 5 years old. She has won numerous singing competitions. Her most notable titles include, 2002 NCI Country Showdown winner, 2003 Thunder Bay Idol, 2005 Quest for the Best, and most recently 2007 APTN Aboriginal Icon. Courtney was one of 3 finalists selected for the televised broadcast of the Aboriginal Icon competition.
